PACTeens

PACT held its annual retreat on September 10, 2011, at the beautiful All Souls Interfaith Gathering in Shelburne, where 17 PACTeens from South Burlington High School and 13 adults gathered to engage in open and respectful dialogue on communication strategies and activities for PACT in this upcoming year that will support its vision to build and sustain a community of respect, compassion, and equality.  PACT offers most sincere thanks to all participants; to Principal Patrick Burke for his message of inspiration; and to the South Burlington School District Prevention Funds for support.

South Burlington High School!

The SBHS auditorium was filled to capacity to watch Race to Nowhere (over 400 people), and 120 teens and adults gathered after the documentary as teen leaders engaged all of us in mindful and powerful dialogue about issues raised in the film:  stress, academic and social pressure, homework. 

Next-step plans are already underway! We'll keep you posted.

PACT held its winter retreat January 9, 2011, where Hal Colston, newly appointed Executive Director of the Vermont Commission on National and Community Service, offered a message of inspiration, inviting the teens and adults in attendance to “consider your own moral compass, develop your code of ethics, and stay true to both.”

Nora Rogers, Commissioner of Education Armando Vilaseca, and Heather Slattery met on November 24, 2009.

Bianca Rizzio, Vermont Department of Education Safe Schools Coordinator Charles Johnson, and Connor DeVarney took part in Restorative Practices training on November 13, 2009.
